Game career

He started playing football in the Children's and Youth Sports School of Ventspils, where his father served in the military. The first coach is Valentin Vasilievich Vitrenko. He was invited to the youth team of Latvia, but did not play matches for this team due to moving with his parents to Ukraine - in the Baltic region of Odessa region. In 1991 he continued his studies at the Children's and Youth Sports School of Balta.

He began to play in amateur teams of Odessa region “ZPT-MKK-97” (Balta), “Monolith” (Ilyichevsk), “ Dniester ” (Ovidiopol) [1] . In 2000, the leadership of the Odessa " Chernomorets " after the departure of the team from the Premier League went to rejuvenate the squad and for the first time since the 80s of the XX century applied for talent to the regional championship . Among the invited newcomers were Nikolai Vitvitsky , Vasily Stezhkova and Bogdan Smishko [2] .

As part of the “sailors”, Smishko made his debut on July 23, 2000, having come out at the base in the match against “ Borisfen ” (3: 0). Two seasons later, Chernomorets returned to the big leagues. The debut of Bogdan Smishko in the major league took place on July 7, 2002 in the game with Kryvbas (0: 2). In the major league, Bogdan lost his place in the first team, playing mainly for the Odessa team. In the spring of 2003 he returned to the first league, becoming a player in the Kirovograd " Star ". With this team, under the leadership of head coach Yuri Koval, he also won a place in the Premier League [3] , and played in it in the 2003/04 season. He also played with the same coach later in Dawn [4] and Alexandria [5] . In addition, he performed three times in the Ovidiopol “ Dniester ” [6] . He completed his career in the team " Real Farm ".

Family

Brother Roman is also a footballer [4] .
