Frederic Wilhelm S.J. Schöström [1] ( Swede. Frederic Wilhelm CJ Sjöström ; born January 8, 1987) [2] is an English actor and model best known for his role as Cormack McLaggen in a series of films about Harry Potter .

Early life and education
Stroma was born in London , England , to the family of Stefan Sjöström, the Swedish leader in the computer industry, and a mother of German descent, and grew up in Ascot , England, in East Berkshire, about 25 miles west of London [3] . He was educated at Radley College and graduated in 2005 [1] [4] . He has an older sister and a younger brother, Philippe Schöström [3] .
When he was 16 years old, Stroma was admitted to the prestigious National Youth Theater of Great Britain [3] . He had roles in various British television shows, including Casualty and Mayo on the BBC. When Strom studied neurology at University College London [4] , he continued to work as an actor and model. He had to take a break in training to star in the role of Cormac McLaggen in the movie Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince . When filming was finished, Strom graduated from University College London [3] . In 2009, he received a second-class diploma in neurobiology [4] .
Career
After graduating from college, Stroma continued the role of Cormac McLaggen in two films, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Part 1 "and" Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Part 2 ". Also played Cool Brett in the crime thriller “ 4.3.2.1. Stroma appeared in the romantic film Cinderella Story 3 as a British student, Luke Morgan. He had a small role in Perfect Voice, a 2012 comedy about university a-cappella [5] . He played a radio manager at a local college radio station [6] .
In 2014, he was taken on the role of Jack in the psychological thriller Philosophers. Lesson of Survival, ”with his Harry Potter counterpart Bonnie Wright [7] . The film was shot on the site of Jakarta [8] .
In June 2015, Stroma played the role of one of romantic interests, Adam Cromwell, in the tragicomedy Lifetime " Unrealistic " [9] . He played a British bachelor who competes on the bachelor reality show Everlasting [10] [11] [12] . “Unreal” was extended for the second season [13] [14] , but Stroma said he did not think that his character would return [15] , although on the panel about “Unreal” in the Paley Center [16] , he said what he hopes as the show continues to show "Everlasting" [17] . After the finale of the first season, Sarah Gertrude Shapiro, one of the founders of "Unreal", confirmed that Stroma will return in the second season [18] .
Stroma got a role in Michael Bay 's 13 hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi . He played a graduate of Yale University, who works as an undercover CIA agent in Libya [19] .
In 2016, he joins HBO 's Game of Thrones series in Season 6 as Deacon Tarley, Samwell Tarley’s brother [20] .
Personal life
Stroma said he was involved in modeling (and acting) to pay for college. He modeled for Acne Underwear in their fall / winter 2008 lingerie collection [8] [21] .
He uses the name Stroma instead of Sjöström, as there is an NHL player Fredrik Söström.
Stroma plays the guitar and knows how to sing, but he was not classically trained [8] .
Stroma began dating a co-star on Unreal, Joanna Braddy , in the summer of 2015. On December 30, 2016, the couple got married [22] .
