Biography
James Lloyd was born in London on March 17, 1810 . After the death of her husband, James's mother married the Frenchman Charles Ranson, at the age of six James moved to Paris . In 1829, he graduated from Lorient College with a bachelor's degree. During the Revolution of 1830, James went to England for a while, but soon returned.
In 1840, the Ranzon family acquired a plot of land near Tuare . In 1858, due to worsening health conditions, they moved to Nantes . In 1869, Lloyd's mother died.
On May 10, 1896, James Lloyd died in his house on Francois Bruno Street in Nantes.
Herbarium of James Lloyd was transferred by his will to the city of Angers . He is currently in the Nantes Museum of Natural History (NTM).
