Favorite (sports society)

JV “Favorite” was founded in 1982 by Yuri Baranov, Alexei Redakov and Alexander Petrov. The main objective of the sports community was to attract youth to football. Every year the number of people who want to play football increased and there was not enough space for training. Then the director of one of the Vyborg schools, Sergey Alekseev, suggested that the leaders of the Favorit team start building a new club in the basement of the school.

In the early nineties, club leaders opened their own business. The time came when the creators of the “Favorite” began to think about reducing the number of students in the club and closing the first, senior team, requiring the greatest financial costs. But Alexander Petrov insisted on maintaining the teams. Most of the dividends from entrepreneurship, Alexander Petrov and Alexei Redakov were directed to the development of the “Favorite”. At the same time, other sponsors began to be involved in supporting the sport. In the early nineties, new sports appeared in Vyborg, and “Favorite” began to combine them into a single club. At this time, a volleyball squad appears. Following the taekwondo. Favorit is becoming a diversified club. At the same time, the development of the club required official registration. In 1993, the “legal” birth of the sports organization “Favorite” Sports Club took place and Nikolay Shishkin became its executive director. In the second half of the nineties, the departments of boxing, aircraft modeling, motor sports, martial arts, athletics, and motorsport appeared.

All these years, the students of the “Favorite” had the opportunity to go to summer camp at the “Sputnik” camp. But the growing number of children involved in sports, required the organization of children's recreation and the development of a network of health camps. In 2003, Favorit took custody of the Green Island summer camp. In 2006 - a children's camp "Spark" near Svetogorsk. In 2007, a camp in the Big Field.

Today, Favorit unites about 30 sports. At the moment, the number of children involved in the favorite sports school exceeds 3,000.

• Petrov, Vitaly Alexandrovich - race car driver, vyborzhanin. He represented “Favorit” JV in the Lada Russia Cup, and later became the first Russian racer in Formula 1 .
• Proshin Anton Mikhailovich - football player, vyborzhanin. He played for various PFL clubs. The author of the first goal of FC Tosno in official matches.
