Biography
Born on October 26, 1904 in Baku . From 1919 to 1925 he worked as a mechanic's apprentice, as a mechanic in Makhachkala, and studied at the workers' school in Rostov-on-Don.
In 1931 he graduated from the Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute. V. I. Ulyanova (Lenin) and until 1936 worked as a teacher and researcher at this institute. From 1936 to 1942, R. S. Zurabov worked on the Volgostroy of the NKVD of the USSR (Rybinsk) - first he was the head of the department of the design department, the head of the electrical bureau, and then the head of the electrical installation department. From 1942 to 1946, he was the head of the mechanoenergomonta office and the deputy chief engineer of Tagilstroy of the NKVD of the USSR in the city of Nizhny Tagil.
In 1946, R. S. Zurabov was transferred to Ust-Narva (Sillamäe, Estonian SSR) as the head of the Construction Directorate of the mining and drilling works of the Glavpromstroy of the NKVD, and then appointed head of the ITL and the Construction Directorate No. 907.
At one of the construction sites in Angarsk, in 1948, R. S. Zurabov continued his work activity: first as chief engineer (until 1961) of the Department of the ITL and the Construction Directorate No. 16 of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs, and then as head of this department. Angarsk and petrochemical plant "Gigant" - is the brainchild of Robert Sergeyevich.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 8, 1958, for the creation of industrial complexes in the city of Angarsk, he was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Sickle and Hammer gold medal.
In December 1961, R. S. Zurabov was transferred to Moscow and appointed head of the Main Construction Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Metallurgy, which he headed for 12 years. During the years he was in charge of the Directorate, construction and reconstruction of enterprises and institutes in Moscow, Navoi, Stepnogorsk, Shevchenko, Obninsk, Melekess and other cities was carried out.
In 1973, R. S. Zurabov became a personal pensioner of union importance. He died on August 4, 1991 at the age of 87. One of the streets in Angarsk was named in honor of Robert Sergeevich [1] .
