Biography
Born in Baku. He graduated from the Transcaucasian Veterinary Institute in Yerevan (1931).
Prominent scientist in the field of veterinary microbiology, founder of mycotoxicology and the Soviet school of veterinary mycology. He worked at the Zurnabad Anti-Plague Station, as a junior research fellow of the Azerbaijan n.-i. Veterinary Institute (1932-1934), senior researcher at the State Scientific and Control Institute of Veterinary Medicines (1934-1937).
The head of the biochemical section of a scientific expedition to study the unknown horse disease of the People's Commissariat of the USSR (1937-1939), traveled to Ukraine. Director of the All-Union N.-. laboratories for the study of toxic mushrooms (1939-1955). In 1942-1944 he was engaged in the fight against fusariotoxicosis in Altai. Proposed the term mycotoxicosis (1944).
Head of the Laboratory of Antibiotics, All-Russian Research Institute of Ectoparasitology, Mycology, and Sanitation (1955-1956), Head of the Laboratory of Antibiotics, State Scientific and Control Institute of Veterinary Medicines (1956-1957); Head of the Laboratory of Mycology and Antibiotics, All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Veterinary Medicine (1957-1990).
For major successes in science, Professor Sarkisov A. Kh. Was awarded the Gold Medal by the United Nations World Intellectual Property Organization [1] . [2]
Contribution to Science
He is the author of laboratory diagnostics of stachibotriotoxicosis and a method for determining the toxic strains of the fungus that cause this disease. Under his leadership, the cause of the disease with fusariotoxicosis was revealed, the etiology of the disease was established, diagnostics and control measures were developed.
He is the author of a new scientific direction - the study of human and animal diseases arising from toxin-forming fungi.
Under his leadership and direct participation, the causes of mass poisoning of animals by microscopic toxicogenic fungi were studied; methods for the determination of mycotoxins directly in the animal organism have been created; zones of distribution of toxic mushrooms, their species composition, conditions of toxin formation were identified; developed methods of analysis and disinfection of feed; developed the basics of using antibiotics in veterinary medicine, methods of using antibiotics of prolonged action, proposed highly economical biomycin preparations - bioethin and biovit.
He is the founder of the school of domestic veterinary mycologists. For the first time in the world, three highly effective farm animal ringworm vaccines have been created.
Compositions
Published more than 200 scientific papers, including 10 books and brochures. He has 37 copyright certificates and patents for inventions. A number of works published abroad.
