Leonard Mlodinov ( born Leonard Mlodinow ; born 1954 ) is an American physicist , as well as the author of popular science books and screenwriter of television popular science programs.

Biography

Born in Chicago, Illinois, into a Jewish family. [1] His parents survived the Holocaust . His father, who spent more than a year in the Buchenwald concentration camp , was the leader of Jewish resistance in the Nazi-occupied territories in his hometown of Czestochowa , Poland . Mother was a prisoner in a labor camp. They met their father in Brooklyn ( New York ) in 1948 .

As a child, Leonard was interested in mathematics and chemistry, while still at school he was interested in organic chemistry at the lectures of professors from the University of Illinois .

In 1973 , after the Doomsday War, having left for a semester in Israel to work in a kibbutz , he read Feynman's lectures on physics at night, one of the few books in English that was available in the kibbutz library.

Then Mlodinov studied at the graduate school of the University of California at Berkeley , and at the California Institute of Technology was engaged in scientific development.
