Biography

Born on September 15, 1949 in the city of Ostrov, Pskov Region [1] . Russian [4] .

In 1971 he graduated from the Sevastopol Higher Naval Engineering School . He served in the nuclear submarines of the Northern Fleet . He graduated from the Military Diplomatic Academy .

According to unconfirmed reports, since 1982 he worked as the third secretary for science and technology at the USSR Embassy in London , in 1985 he was expelled from the UK for espionage . Later served in the GDR [3] [5] .

In 1995, he was appointed to the post of first deputy general director of FSUE Rosvooruzhenie , which he held until May 1999 [5] .

Since 2001, he headed the Federal State Institution Emercom Agency of the Russian Emergencies Ministry [5] .

From May 2012 to December 24, 2012 - Head of the Office of the Governor of the Moscow Region and the Regional Government (under the Governor Sergei Shoigu ) [3] .

December 24, 2012 was appointed to the post of General Director of OJSC Slavyanka, a subsidiary of Oboronservis .

On March 21, 2014, he was appointed plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Crimean Federal District [7] formed on the same day [6 ] . March 28 was included in the Security Council of the Russian Federation [8] .

On August 28, 2016 he was appointed plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District [9] [10] . On June 26, 2018, he was relieved of his post; on July 3, 2018, he was removed from the Security Council of the Russian Federation [11] [12] .

The Svyatoshinsky District Court of Kiev in absentia sentenced Oleg Belaventsev, former presidential envoy to the Crimea, to 13 years in prison for “committing an encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, incitement to treason and the conduct of an aggressive war against Ukraine” [13] .
