DescriptionThe coat on the back is gray-brown, with a lighter shade from the bottom of the back. The belly, chest and internal surfaces of the limbs are gray. The tail is red-brown, darker to the tip. The average weight of an adult male is about 1.1 kg, an adult female is about 1.2 kg. The average body length without tail is 27 cm for females and 25 cm for males. [one]
DistributionThey are found in Madagascar on the territory of the Anduhakhela reserve, the exact boundaries of the range are unknown. [1] In the southeastern coastal forests, the sympatric species Microcebus rufus , Cheirogaleus major and Cheirogaleus medius , as well as Eulemur collaris , [3] are sympathetic to Hapalemur meridionalis in the Manden forest. [four]
RationThe diet is mainly leaves and young shoots. Supplement to the diet are flowers and other parts of plants. [five]
Population StatusThey live in coastal forests in the southeast of Madagascar. The range is quite fragmented, which negatively affects the population size. There are no exact data on the number of these animals and population density. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has assigned this species the conservation status of "Insufficient data." [6]
