Biography

Petr Ivanovich Morozov was born on July 1, 1924 into a peasant family in the village of Lukerino, Omsk district of the Omsk province , now the village is in the Medvezhinsky rural settlement of Isilkulsky district of the Omsk region .

In 1930, the family moved to the city of Schuchinsk, Karaganda region, Kazakh Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic . In 1931, his father died of the disease. Raising a son completely fell on the shoulders of the mother, Marina Agafonovna, and the elder sister.

He graduated from seven grades of the school and the factory apprenticeship school in Akmolinsk , after which he worked as a mechanic at the Borovoye resort station in Schuchinsk .

In June 1942, Morozov was called up to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army and sent to the front of the Great Patriotic War. On August 15, 1942 he was wounded.

In 1943, he graduated from the Stalingrad Military Tank School [1] .

By the spring of 1945, Lieutenant Pyotr Morozov commanded a tank company of the 1st Tank Battalion of the 53rd Guards Tank Brigade of the 6th Guards Tank Corps of the 3rd Guards Tank Army of the 1st Ukrainian Front . Distinguished during the storming of Berlin . The company of Morozov successfully crossed the Neisse and Spree rivers , as well as the Teltow canal. In the battle for the city of Golsen, Morozov personally destroyed 2 artillery guns, 1 tank and about 70 enemy soldiers and officers. In the battles for Berlin, his company was one of the first to reach the center of the city [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated June 27, 1945, Guard Lieutenant Peter Morozov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .

After the end of the war, Morozov continued his service in the Soviet Army in the Eastern zone of Germany (German Democratic Republic). In 1949, he graduated from the Kazan Higher Officer Armored School (according to other sources, the Leningrad Military Academy [2] ). He continued his service in the Belarusian Military District , in the city of Osipovichi . Increasingly, military wounds are beginning to disturb him, and in February 1952 he was taken to the Minsk military hospital.

Petr Ivanovich Morozov died unexpectedly on January 26, 1952, was buried in the city of Osipovichi, Mogilyov Region, Belarus [1] .
