Guillaume VI ( fr. Guillaume VI ; c. 1070 - 1136 ) - Count of Auvergne and Vele not earlier than from 1096. The son of Robert II , Count of Auvergne and Zhevodan, and his second wife Judit de Melgey.

In 1102, he led the detachment of the crusaders of his county. Together with Raymond de Saint-Gilles participated in the siege of Tripoli . It is not known how long Guillaume VI spent in the Holy Land , but after the end of the Crusade it is mentioned in French documents only starting from 1114.
Upon returning to Auvergne, Montferrand fortified, hoping to use it as a bridgehead in the fight against Emery, Bishop of Clermont. Repeatedly invaded church possessions in order to seize land, which in 1122 forced the bishop to seek help from King Louis Tolstoy . The royal army occupied Clermont and Pont du Chateau, and Guillaume had to return to the bishop all that was captured.
After 4 years, the war resumed. Louis Tolstoy besieged Montferrand, but Guillaume of Auvergne stood up for his immediate overlord - the Aquitaine Duke Guillaume IX . As a result, peace was concluded in accordance with medieval feudal law.
