The Saratov Theater of Russian Comedy is one of the young theaters in Saratov . From 1998 to 2007, the theater was an independent cultural institution in the city of Saratov. Since 2007, the theater has become a branch of the Saratov Academic Drama Theater named after I. A. Slonov .

The repertoire of the Russian Comedy Theater previously included plays by A.P. Chekhov , A.N. Ostrovsky , N.R. Erdman , M.A. Bulgakov , A.I. Slapovsky , A.V. Vampilov , L.A. Filatov , I Schwartz, N. M. Ptushkina , F. Weber .
