The National Museum in Gitega ( fr. Musée national de Gitega ) was opened in 1955 in the second largest city of Burundi - Gitega [1] .

About the Museum
The museum consists of two objects: the museum itself and the sanctuary of drummers nearby.
The museum’s collection contains a wide range of exhibits of the historical and cultural heritage of Burundi, including photographs of monarchs , documents on genocide , as well as royal drums, household items, works of art, musical and dance instruments, traditional clothes, jewelry and weapons, utensils and much more [2 ] [3] .
