Biography
Born in Morelia ( Michoacan ) in the family of the politician and Leonora Rubio Cornelis. He served as president of Mexico from 1930 to 1932, previously was the governor of Michoacan (from 1917 to 1918). In 1920-1921 - Minister of Transport and Public Works. In 1925 - the ambassador of Mexico to Germany, then in 1926-1929 - in Brazil.
November 17, 1929 elected president of Mexico from the national revolutionary party, took office February 5, 1930. His presidency was marked by the adoption of citizenship laws, the assertion of religious freedom, and the recognition of the Spanish Republic . After two years in office, he retired on September 4, 1932.
