Tour Description

For the tour, a special purple double-decker bus is used, decorated outside with images of ghosts, with interiors and curtains in purple colors to create the appropriate atmosphere. The tour is usually held at night and includes two stops, where passengers disembark to visit places where ghosts supposedly live [2] .

The bus leaves Dublin Bus headquarters on O'Connell Street and follows Trinity College . The guide, a professional actor, during the excursion tells about the creation by Bram Stoker of the cult novel Dracula , as well as stories about the mythical creatures of the banshee , foreshadowing death, and the kidnappers of corpses for anatomical schools [2] .

The first bus stop is at the St. Kevin Church in Camden Row, where the cemetery is located. Here, the guide tells more about the abductors of corpses, including the famous story of the West Port homicides of 1827–28 in Edinburgh , when Irish immigrants William Burke and William Hare, having committed 16 murders, sold the corpses of their victims as a material for dissecting the famous Scottish surgeon and Anatom Robert Knox , and also invites those who wish to try opening the grave [3]

The next bus stop makes near the church of St. Owen on the Kornmarket, where, according to current legend, the ghost of the “green lady” appears for many generations [4] .

The tour ends at O'Connell Street .
