Lesnoye Matyunino is a village in the Kuzovatovsky district of the Ulyanovsk region , the center of the village administration (the former Sengileevsky district of the Simbirsk province). It is located 25 km south-west of the district center ( p. Kuzovatovo ), on the Temryazanka River.

History
It arose at the end of the XVII century. The village was named after the surname of the Simbir nobles Matyunin, earlier it was called Bogorodsk.
In 1900, there were 233 yards, the population was 687 men and 749 women, in 1913 - 809 yards, 1316 residents (Russians). In 1894, a parish school was opened in the village (before that there was an elementary school). The temple was built by parishioners in 1758. There were three thrones in it: the main one - in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and in the aisles: in one in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and in the other in the name of St. Right Prince Alexander Nevsky. The church was called Kazan.
Currently, only the foundation remains, which is listed in the List of Cultural Heritage Sites (historical and cultural monuments) located in the Ulyanovsk Region (Kuzovatovsky District) and, in accordance with the Order of the Head of Administration of the Ulyanovsk Region dated 07.29.99. No. 959-r is under state protection with the status identified (Foundation of the Lost Church of Our Lady of Kazan (Orthodox parish baptist church), mid-18th century.
In the List of Cultural Heritage Sites with the same status identified as being protected by the state, there is an object of cultural heritage (a monument of history and culture) of the Kotov Leso-Matyuninsky Cloth Factory Ensemble (late 19th century):
- The building of the production building of the cloth factory (1889).
- The office building of the factory. 1889 year.
- The building of the factory building (warehouse of finished products). 1889 year.
- The building of the economic building (raw materials warehouse). 1889 year.
- House of the residential manufacturer (manager). The end of the XIX century.
Previously, the factory belonged to Tolstosheev.
In addition to the cloth factory in the village, there were a distillery of the landowners Ivanov, Ryazanov, Chadayev, a sawmill at the Karpovs Trading House, and an Epishin Aleksey Grigoryevich mill.
Since 1996, a school, club, first-aid post and distillery of Krasny Pakhar LLC have appeared in the village (now inoperative).

Hero of the Soviet Union Nikolai Kharitonov was born in the village.
Infrastructure
The village has a school, a club house of culture, a library and a first-aid post. Also, since 1999, there has been a branch of the Clinical Hospital for War Disabled People, a 24-hour hospital (geriatric center).
Gas supply, central water supply, electricity supply and telephone installation of the village were carried out.
