In 1975, she was the first in pharmacy to be awarded the title of Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, specializing in Biopharmacy (Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 2013).

She held leading posts in public medical and pharmaceutical scientific organizations of the USSR and Russia: deputy chairman of the Scientific Council on Pharmacology and Pharmacy of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences, chairman of the "Pharmacy" problem committee of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences, deputy chairman of the expert council of the Higher Certification Commission of the USSR, member of the bureau of the department of biomedical sciences of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences , deputy board of the All-Union Scientific Society of Pharmacists, editor of the editorial department of "Pharmacology" BME, member of the editorial board of the journal "Pharmacy". She was an honorary member of the pharmaceutical companies of Hungary, Bulgaria, Medical Society. J. Purkinje (Czechoslovakia).

Scientific activity

She was one of the founders of a new scientific field - biopharmacy. She formulated the theoretical principles of biopharmacy, the development of a number of methods for determining the bioavailability of drugs, the degree and speed of their absorption from various dosage forms. The creator of a scientific school, trained 50 doctors and candidates of pharmaceutical sciences. Biopharmaceutical concepts put forward by scientists are now recognized and taken into account when developing new and improving traditional dosage forms. Under her leadership, work was carried out in the field of creating new dosage forms - liposomes and solid disperse systems. In the practice of manufacturing injectable dosage forms, a new technological method for introducing drug substances into solution in the form of solid disperse systems was first introduced.

Based on the research of A. I. Tentsova and her students, the quality indicator of solid dosage forms “Dissolution” was developed, a scientifically based approach when choosing excipients with the aim of maximizing the effect of the dosage form. In the manufacture of suppositories, ointments and transdermal therapeutic systems, the “Release” method developed at the Institute of Pharmacy began to be used. The bioequivalence of a number of foreign and domestic drugs was also studied.

Scientific Papers

She has authored over 300 publications, including 5 monographs. Among them:

“Modern aspects of the research and production of ointments” (1980, et al.), “Dosage form and therapeutic efficacy of drugs” (1974, et al.), “Synthetic polymers in domestic pharmaceutical practice” (1974, et al.), “Fundamentals scientific organization of labor in pharmacies ”(1980, et al.),“ Pharmacists' Handbook ”(1973, et al.),“ Pharmacy in the USSR ”(1973, et al.).

Awards and titles

She was awarded three orders of the Red Banner of Labor, Friendship of Peoples and medals. For work in the field of biopharmacy she was awarded the gold medal of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
