Ship Description

According to various sources, the length of the schooner ranged from 23.39 to 23.4 meters , the width from 6.17 to 6.2 meters , and the draft from 2.49 to 2.5 meters . The armament of the vessel consisted of 6 guns [1] [2] .

Service History

Schooner "Polar Star" was laid at the Solombala shipyard in Arkhangelsk on September 1 ( 13 ), 1843 , and after launching on May 10 ( 22 ), 1844 , it became part of the White Sea flotilla of Russia. The construction was carried out by the foreman F. T. Zagulyaev [1] [2] .

From 1844 to 1858 she sailed to the White Sea , was used to deliver security to lighthouses. In 1844 she went to the Solovetsky Islands with Admiral General Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolaevich on board [2] .

In 1859, the schooner was dismantled in Arkhangelsk [2] .
