Church of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia ( Church of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia ) is an Orthodox church in Apatity . Belongs to the Khibinogorsk deanery of the Murmansk and Monchegorsk diocese . The church got its name from the relics of the New Martyrs in the temple.

History
The initiator of the construction of the second church in Apatity was Archpriest Vasily, rector of the Holy Assumption Church. In 2000, the Archbishop of Murmansk and Monchegorsk, Simon approved the construction and gave an official blessing. On July 10, 2005, the foundation pit was consecrated and the first stone of the temple was laid.
From the words of Archpriest Vasily (Danilts) "A lot of people participated in the construction of the temple, both parishioners and representatives of various organizations of Apatity and Kirovsk ."
The temple is 30 meters high and stands on one of the highest places in the city. Five domes of gold made in Chelyabinsk , consecrated and installed on September 14, 2006 crown the temple. There is also a built-in belfry with five bells.
The icons were painted by artists Metkin V., Naumova S., Maksimova A. Many icons were donated to the church by parishioners. [1] .
Description
The type of temple is a wooden tented church. Initially, it was planned to build a stone Assumption Church, in the late 1990s a mortgage stone was put up, but due to a lack of funds the construction was canceled.
The rector of the church is Archpriest Vasily.
In the temple there are: Sunday school ; catechization department ; department of social work; missionary department. A library is open on Sundays.
Revered Shrines:
- an icon of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia and the relics of the New Martyrs;
- the icon with the relics of St. Theodore Ushakov;
- Icon of St. Rev. Alexy the Man of God.
There are two monuments on the territory of the temple: the Monument to Cyril and Methodius (installed in 2009) and the Monument to Princes Peter and Fevronia (installed in 2011).
