Alves Zage

Luis Roberto Alves dos Santos Gavranić ( Spanish: Luis Roberto Alves dos Santos Gavranić, better known as Zage, Spanish Zague ; born May 23, 1967 in Mexico City , Mexico) is a Mexican footballer of Brazilian origin who is known for playing for the Necax , “ America ” and the Mexican team . Member of the 1994 World Cup . The son of a professional Brazilian soccer player Jose Luis Zage .

Club career

Alves began his career at the club for which his father, America , played. Thanks to his growth, strength and excellent technique, Zage quickly won a place in the first team. In his first season, he helped the team win the Mexican Primera . In the club, Alves played 11 seasons and became her best scorer in history, scoring more than 160 goals in 400 matches, and also three times became the champion of Mexico and the holder of the CONCACAF Champions Cup , twice won the trophy the Champion of Champions of Mexico and the Inter-American Cup . He spent the season 1996/1997 in Atlanta , after which he returned to America, and then again joined the team from Cancun .

In 2000, Zage joined the Necaxa . With the new club, he won the bronze medals of the Club World Cup . In 2003, Alves returned to America, where he ended his career at the end of the season. Zag with 209 goals takes 6th place in the list of top scorers of the MX League in history.

International Career

In 1988, Zage made his debut for the Mexican national team . In 1991, as part of a national team, he took part in the CONCACAF Gold Cup . At the tournament, Alves played in matches against the national teams of Canada [2] , the national teams of Honduras [3] , the USA [4] , Costa Rica [5] and Jamaica [6] , in whose goal he scored a goal. Following the tournament, Zage became a bronze medalist. In 1993, Alves became the silver medalist of the America's Cup as part of the national team. In the same year, he won the CONCACAF Gold Cup, becoming the top scorer of the competition with 11 goals. In the tournament, Alves played in matches against the national teams of Canada [7] , USA [8] , Costa Rica [9] , Jamaica [10] , and in the match against Martinique he scored 7 goals [11] .

In 1994, Zage fell into the application of the national team to participate in the World Cup in the United States . At the tournament, he played in fights against the national teams of Bulgaria [12] , Ireland [13] , Italy [14] and Norway [15] .

In 1995, Alves took part in the America's Cup , and also helped the team win bronze medals in the King Fahd Cup .
