Content
Geographical position
The village is located in the northern part of the Zolsky district in the Zolka II river valley. It is located 3 km south of the administrative center of Zalukodes , 20 km south-west of the regional center of Zalukokoazhe and 72 km north-west of the city of Nalchik .
It borders the lands of settlements: Zalukodes in the north, State Farm in the east and Shordakovo in the west.
The village is located in the foothill zone of the republic. The terrain is expressed in various elevations and is strongly rugged. From the south over the village rises the Djinal Range , passing in the north to medium-high hills and ridges. The average altitude in the territory is 875 meters above sea level. Absolute heights exceed 1,400 meters.
The hydrographic network is represented by the Zolka River and its small tributaries flowing down from the right slope of the Dzhinalsky ridge. There are exits of hydrogen sulfide sources and fresh springs.
The climate is temperate. Summer is warm with average July temperatures of about + 21 ° C, winter is cool with average January temperatures of about -3.5 ° C. The average rainfall per year is about 650 mm. Most rainfall occurs between May and July. The winds are mainly northwest and eastern.
History
The village was founded in 1964 by immigrants from the villages of Zalukodes and Kamennomostskoye , who resettled to the foot of the right (northern) slope of the Dzhinalsky ridge . The new village got its name from the name of the ridge.
In the same year, the village was administratively included in the Zalukodessky village council .
