"Magarif" is a monthly socio-pedagogical and scientific-methodical general Tatar journal. Founder - OAO Tatmedia. The editorial office is located in the Republic of Tatarstan , in Kazan .

About the magazine

The first issue of Magarif magazine (Enlightenment) was published in March 1913 under the name Muktp (School), the first editor was Shigabuddin Akhmerov, who published 25 issues. In connection with the First World War, the publication of the magazine ceases. In 1918, the famous Tatar writer and statesman, Galimjan Ibragimov, established the Magarif magazine at the Education Commission, which is now considered the successor to the School by Sh. Akhmerov. This was one of the very first Tatar-language publications of the Soviet government. Therefore, in addition to pedagogical ones, Magarif magazine was assigned important ideological functions. In the years 1919-1920. the magazine is not published in connection with the Civil War. In 1936-1938 the magazine is published under the name “Bashlangych mәktәp” (“Primary School”). In 1938-1990 - “The Council of MKTKBE” (“Soviet School”). (From 1941 to 1947 the magazine is not published). Since September 1990, after the adoption of the Declaration on State Sovereignty of the Republic of Tatarstan, the magazine regains its historical name “Magarif”.

The content of the magazine consists of analytical articles on the current state of the educational system, teaching and didactic materials, development of lessons and master classes. The annual All-Russian competition "Avyl ukutuchysy - Rural Teacher" has become traditional.

Magarif Magazine publishes Magarif.RF Magazine, the application Margarif. Tatar Tele. The main audience is teachers, educators of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Today the circulation of the magazine is 9-10 thousand copies. Most of it is distributed in the Republic of Tatarstan. "Magarif" is also distributed in other regions of the Russian Federation, where Tatars live. Today, about 500 copies diverge in more than 20 regions of Russia.

In 2015, Magarif magazine won the republican journalistic contest “Bulkur Kalim - Crystal Pen” in the nomination “Corporate, specialized mass media of the Republic of Tatarstan”. Having gained the most votes, he entered the II round of the "Legendary Brands" competition, which was organized by Tatmedia JSC. At the second stage, the jury, under the leadership of the editor of Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Vladislav Fronin, evaluated the creative applications of the media. As a result, the 102-year-old Magarif magazine won the Legendary Magazine nomination.
