She began studying piano under the guidance of her mother, then she graduated from the Milan Conservatory . She improved her skills at the Piano Academy in Imola y Franco Scala . Laureate of a number of national and international competitions; the peak of Tomassi’s competitive career was the first prize of the Arthur Rubinstein International Competition in Israel ( 1992 ).
She performed in different countries of Europe, as well as in the USA, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, South Korea, Japan. She performed in several chamber lineups. Long-term participant of music festivals Martha Argerich . She recorded an album of studies by Frederic Chopin and two piano concerts by Nino Rota (with the La Scala theater orchestra conducted by Ricardo Muti ); some concert recordings were also published, including Variations on the theme of Paganini by Vitold Lutoslavsky for two pianos, performed by Tomassi in a duet with Argerich.
