Pak Sandara ( cor. 박 산다라 , Park Sandara ; born November 12, 1984), better known by the stage name Dara , is a Filipino - Korean singer, actress, member of the disbanded group 2NE1 [2] [3] .

Biography
The Early Years and Early Careers
Dara was born in Busan and raised in the Philippines [4] [5] . In 2004, she auditioned and became a member of the Philippine talent show Star Circle Quest [6] , in which she reached the finals and took 2nd place [7] . As a result, the company-owner of this ABS-CBN show often involved it in their projects.
In 2004, Dara first appeared in a movie in the movie Bcuz Of U [8] [9] , for which she received the Philippine Movie Press Club Star Awards in the category "Best New Actress" [10] . It was followed by the film Can This Be Love (2005), which earned almost 100 million pesos at the box office [10] [11] . In 2006, Dara was nominated for the Golden Screen Awards in the category "Best Actress in a Leading Role (Musical or Comedy)" [12] . The third movie of his career was D 'Lucky Ones (2006) [10] [13] . In the same year, she starred in the movie Super Noypi , which became a participant in the program of the festival Metro Manila [14] . This was followed by filming in several Philippine television series - Krystala [15] , Crazy for You and Abt Ur Luv , television productions of My Name is Sandara Park , SCQ Reload: OK Ako! and Nuts Entertainment . At the same time, Dara released the mini-album Sandara [16] .
In December 2004, YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk , after seeing the movie My Name is Sandara Park , offered Dara an internship in Korea [17] . She went to Korea in March 2005, but six months later returned to the Philippines. On August 1, 2007, her family finally moved to Korea [18] . The very next day, YG Entertainment announced that Sandara had signed a contract with them [19] .
2NE1
In 2008, Yang Hyun Suk announced that he was going to create a new women's group. The name of the group was originally announced as "21", however, due to the fact that the artist with the same name was already, the group was quickly renamed to "2NE1". [20] [21] [22] [23] The group debuted in May 2009; the first single was a duet with the Big Bang band " Lollipop ". A little later they released their debut mini-album , and in October 2010 the first full-fledged studio album To Anyone , [24] [24], was released . The album was a success, and 2NE1 won an 11 different music awards [25] .
In 2011, 2NE1 released their second mini-album . In 2014, the second studio album CRUSH was released [26] .
Solo Activity
Before starting her career in 2NE1, upon arriving in Korea, Dara managed to star in the movie Return of Ilzhime and in Gummy ’s music video, “I'm Sorry.” In August 2009, Dara participated in the recording of the song G-Dragon "Hello" from his solo album Heartbreaker . She starred in the G-Dragon Butterfly video.
Since August 2009, 2NE1 took a short break from their activities, and the band members recorded solo singles; On September 7, Dara was the first to release her song called “ Kiss, ” a CL band colleague took part in her creation, recording a rap for the track. The song reached position 5 on the Gaon Chart . In July 2010, Dara starred in Taeyang 's I I Need A Girl video.
On April 18, 2011, Dara announced that she was hired by the Director of Communications 2NE1 [2] . Since 2012, she has been the face of the Korean cosmetic brand Etude House together with SHINee , and since February 2013 - the face of the CLIO brand [27] .
