Katherine Reuter was born in 1988 in Champaign ( Illinois ). At the age of 4, her parents gave her to the figure skating section, but it quickly became clear that she was more attracted to speed skating. In 2005, she began to practice speed skating professionally. When she was in high school, a meeting was organized for students with the famous graduate - five-time Olympic champion Bonnie Blair . After this meeting, Katherine Reuter decided that she would be engaged in a short track.

In 2008, Katherine Reuter won the bronze medal of the World Cup. In 2009, she won the bronze medal of the world championship among teams. In 2010, she won silver and bronze medals at the Vancouver Olympics, and two bronze medals at the World Championships. In 2011, she won the gold, two silver and bronze medals of the World Cup, and a bronze medal of the world championship among teams.

In early 2013, Katherine Reuter announced the end of her sports career due to injuries.
