In the 1990 NHL draft, he was selected in round 9 under a total 177 number by the Washington Capitals team. On September 27, 2003, as an unrestricted free agent, he signed a contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs . March 8, 2006 was traded at the New Jersey Devils . On July 24 of the same year, as an unlimited free agent, he signed a contract with Colorado Avalanche .
