History
In 1980, the women's team “Medic” was created at the Krasnoyarsk State Medical Institute, which in the first season won the silver medal of the USSR championship among teams of medical universities. From 1984 to 1987, he was a regular participant in the USSR Cup among the teams of Siberia and the Far East, and in 1989 became the champion of the USSR among students. During this period, the team entered the second league of the USSR championship , where in 1991 , under the new name "Victoria", took first place. But to play in the first league of the allied championship failed, in connection with the collapse of the country.
In the Russian Championship , Victoria starts from the lower division, but already in 1994, she won the Russian championship among the teams of the first league and received the right to play in the major league. In the same season, Krasnoyarsk basketball players won the Russian Cup among the teams of Siberia and the Far East. Before its debut in the Premier League, the team was renamed “Shelen”, in accordance with an agreement with its general sponsor - Joint-Stock Company of the commercial and industrial company “Shelen”.
In the 1996/97 season, the team takes 2nd place in Division “A” of the Premier League and enters the elite division “Super League”. At this moment, the club begins to receive financial support from the administration of Krasnoyarsk and, on the initiative of the mayor, the Municipal Sports Institution “Basketball Club Shelen” is created [2] .
In the first season , in the top division, basketball players achieve excellent results, 8th place among 11 teams. In subsequent years, the team falls lower and lower in the standings, until in 2002 it leaves the elite (15th out of 19). After 2 years, “Shelen” again goes to the “Super League” and in the 2005/06 season it repeats its best result - 8th place. That season, the team, for the first time in its history, plays in the playoffs, where it sensationally defeats the future Russian champion VBM-SSAU (77:75), and the Samara basketball players lost this first and last in the tournament (30 games, 29 wins).
After this championship the team began to decline: for two consecutive seasons, the Krasnoyarsk basketball players finished the Russian championship in last place and were forced to return to League B. This was largely due to financial problems. In 2008, "Shelen" loses the status of a basketball club and the team is part of the MOU DOD "Sports School for Basketball". In the Super League B competitions, the team enters with a practically new roster and under a new name - Krasnoyarochka.
In 2012, the club’s transition from the city to the regional administration was formalized, thereby the team entered the structure of the Yenisei basketball club [3] .
In the 2012/13 season, Yenisei, in a dispute with Kazanochka , won the only ticket to the Premier League, beating Kazan basketball players in the final series 2-0. Since 2013, the Krasnoyarsk team has been in the elite of Russian women's basketball.
