Career
A pupil of the hockey school of the club "Titan" (Berezniki), coach S. P. Vitman [1] . From Bereznikov he moved to Magnitogorsk , where he studied at a sports boarding school. He made his debut as a professional hockey player in the South Ural team from Orsk . He played for the junior team of Russia , in which he became the silver medalist of the European Championship [2] . Since the 1993/94 season he has been a player in Magnitogorsk Metallurg . For the main team, Metallurg held 51 games between 1994 and 2000, most often remaining in reserve. He also played for the Metallurg farm club .
On January 15, 2001, he was killed in the entrance of his own house in Magnitogorsk [3] with a shot in the back of the head. Two murderers who shot Sergei for the purpose of robbery were sentenced to 20 and 10 years in prison, respectively [4] .
