Steve Pecher (born February 13, 1956 in St. Louis , Missouri ) is an American football player and defender. He is currently the director of the St. Louis Scott Gallagher Football Club.

Content
Youth Career
Pecher started playing football with the Florissent Cougers youth club, then played on the Normandy High School team in St. Louis. He was a member of the team that won the Missouri state championship in 1974. He was also a National Athlete in both the younger and older years. The following year, he entered St. Louis Municipal College, where he played in the college youth championship in 1975. While in college, he received the title of All-American athlete.
Club career
In 1976, Pechera signed the Dallas Tornado of the North American Football League (NASL) . In the same season, he was recognized as the NASL Rookie of the Year. He remained with the club until the 1980 season. By 1980, Pecher had moved to showball when he joined the St. Louis Stimers of MISL in the 1979/80 season. In 1980, he was enrolled in the MISL All-Star Team. He remained with the Stimers until the 1983/84 season. In August 1984, Pecher became a free agent and on September 11 signed a contract with Kansas City Comets [1] . He began the 1985/86 season in Kansas City , but in December 1985 the Comets exchanged him for the Stimers player Stuart Lee [2] . He remained with the Stimers until February 20, 1987, until they exchanged him and Don Ebert for Paulie Garcia and Jim Cavanaugh from the Los Angeles Lazers. [3] He left football at the end of the 1987/88 season.
National Team
Pecher played 17 matches for the US team from 1976 to 1980. He made his national team debut on September 24, 1976 in a match with Canada . He spent his last game with the US team on November 9, 1980 against Mexico , the match was lost.
After Career
After leaving sports, Pecher joined Marriott , where he became director of retail sales. In September 2002, he was hired as director of the former Bush football club, which later became known as St. Louis, and is now called St. Louis Scott Gallagher. He worked with the team as a trainer and continues to train the youth team.
