Background
For the first time, Iran joined the Paralympic competitions at the 1988 Summer Paralympic Games , and has since been appearing at all Summer Paralympic Games [1] . The country also sent its delegation to the 1998 Paralympic Winter Games , participating for the first time in the Paralympic Winter Games [1] . The 2014 Winter Paralympic Games were held from March 7 to 16, 2014 in Sochi . 45 countries and 547 athletes took part in the all-around [2] .
