Biography
On January 6, 1966, the Evarist Ngoyagoye was ordained a priest in Rome in the Cathedral of St. Peter by Pope Paul VI .
On January 7, 1980, Pope John Paul II established the Diocese of Bubanza and appointed Evarist Ngoyagoya as its first bishop. On August 24, 1980, the Evarist Ngoyagoye was ordained a bishop, performed by the titular archbishop of Tiburnia and the apostolic pro-nuncio in Burundi, Donato Scichchiarini, accompanied by Bishop Michel Ntujahaga of Bujumbura and Archbishop Archpriest Archbishop Archpriest of the Archdiocese.
On April 21, 1997, Pope John Paul II appointed Evarist Ngoyagoye as Bishop of Bujumbura. On November 25, 2006, the Diocese of Bujumbura was elevated to the rank of archdiocese and Evarist Ngoyagoye became its first archbishop.
