Biography
Born July 28, 1946 [1] in the village of Koronos on the island of Naxos, in Greece [2] .
He graduated from the Theological School of the University of Athens and graduate school at Durham University in the UK , where he specialized in the field of patristics [2] .
On December 12, 1972, Metropolitan Methodius of Aksum (Fuyas) was ordained a deacon , and on December 13, he was ordained a presbyter [1] . He served in Ethiopia , Malta , England , South Africa and Greece . He founded new parishes and schools, directed educational work, excelled in pastoral and charitable affairs [2] .
On February 22, 2001, by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Alexandrian Patriarch, he was elected ruling bishop of the Dar es Salaam Metropolis within the borders of eastern Tanzania [3] .
March 3, 2001 he was consecrated to the rank of bishop of Dar es Salaam with the elevation of the dignity of the metropolitan [2] . The consecration was headed by Patriarch Peter VII .
October 27, 2004 was appointed manager of the Ptolemaida Metropolitanate [2] .
November 26, 2014 was retired with the title of Metropolitan of Diospolsky [4] .
