Club career

Woodcock was born in Eastwood , a graduate of the Nottingham Forest training school. In 1978, Nottingham Forrest became the country's champion, and Woodcock was recognized as the opening of the year and received the award of the country's best young football player . After winning the Nottingham Forrest in the 1979 Champions Cup [4] , he moved to Cologne , where he spent three seasons. With Cologne became the vice champion of the Bundesliga.

He returned home after the 1982 World Cup , signing a contract with Arsenal for £ 500,000. Woodcock became Arsenal's top scorer over the next four seasons; in the 1983–84 season, he scored five goals in one game against Aston Villa , setting a post-war club record. In 1985, Woodcock was seriously injured, which crossed out all his plans for the upcoming season, after which he decided to return to Germany [5] . Woodcock played 168 matches for Arsenal, scoring 68 goals.

Team Career

Woodc made his debut for England in 1978 against Northern Ireland . In total, he played 42 games for the national team, scoring 16 goals, and played at the 1982 World Cup [4] .
