Church of Sofia the Wisdom of God (also known as the Sofia Church) is a stone church in Yaroslavl , located on the left bank of the Volga River . Previously called the Sofia Church of the village of Savina, now it is within the city (Yaroslavl, Tveritskaya embankment , 77). It is administered by the Yaroslavl and Rostov diocese .

History
In 1766, a stone church was built at the expense of parishioners in the village of Savino [1] . During the years of Soviet rule in 1937 the church was closed after the arrest of the rector Archpriest Apolos [2] . The weddings were broken, was occupied by the store.
It was reopened in 2002. Previously, the Sofia Church of the village of Savina was called, now this area is within the city (Yaroslavl, Tveritskaya embankment , 77), the name, accordingly, changed [3] . Services were resumed on July 12, 2002 [4] . Currently under reconstruction - the bell tower is being restored.
Architectural Design
A single-headed quadrangle with a refectory with a southern aisle and a pillar-shaped tent bell tower.
