BiologySea demersal fish live at depths from 2 to 120 m among stone placers and in thickets of sea grass near reefs. Keep in small groups, do not form flocks. Sometimes they enter estuaries and estuaries.
Nutrition
The diet includes crustaceans , polychaetes and fish. As fish grows, the nutrition spectrum changes significantly. Small individuals feed mainly on amphipods and isopods , and larger individuals switch to shrimp and juvenile fish [4] .
Reproduction
Like other representatives of the genus Sebastes, oriental perch belongs to viviparous fish with internal fertilization. For the first time ripen at the age of 4 years. Mating occurs in the fall. Sperm is stored in the ovaries of the female for several months before fertilization of the eggs. Hatching takes place inside the female; larvae moulder in June – July. The larvae will be washed at a time, once a year [5] [6] . The first months of life live in the water column, then move on to a near-bottom lifestyle.
Economic valueSpecialized fishing is not conducted. Often caught in the form of by- catch in the trawl fishery of other bottom fish, as well as in fixed seines. A popular sport fishing facility [1] .
