Battleships of the Crown type - three 64-gun battleships of the third rank , built for the Royal Navy by Sir Edward Hunt according to the project, approved on October 14, 1778. The project was distinguished by a slightly longer length and an additional pair of cannon ports at the opera deck, under linear guns. It is not known whether they had permanent guns or not. In any case, these ports were too close to the corral for livestock, so their use was clearly constrained [1] .

By the time the project was developed, 64-gun battleships were already considered weakly suitable for squadron combat, and therefore the Crown type was the last of the British 64-gun ship types. After it, only 74-cannon and higher were designed [2] .
