Dropleton or quantum droplet , quantum drop [1] - an artificial quasiparticle , which is a collection of electrons and holes inside a semiconductor . Dropleton is the first known quasiparticle that behaves like a liquid [2] [1] . The experimental detection of dropleton was announced in the article Nature [1] on February 26, 2014, where evidence was given of the formation of dropleton in a hole plasma inside a gallium arsenide quantum well due to its irradiation with ultrashort laser pulses [3] . Prior to this experiment, predictions of the existence of dropletons were not known.

Despite the short lifetime of 25 picoseconds , dropletons are stable enough to be available for research [2] [1] . Dropletons are interesting objects for the study of quantum mechanics . Dropleton has a width of 200 nanometers , like a tiny bacterium, and it can be expected that quantum dropleton can be observed visually [4] .
