Doan Viet Hoat ( Vietnamese àoàn Viết Hoạt , born December 24, 1942) is a Vietnamese journalist , educator, and political activist who was repeatedly in prison for criticizing the Vietnamese communist leadership. He has received numerous international awards in recognition of his work, including the Robert Kennedy Award for Human Rights. Often it is called the "Vietnamese Sakharov " [1] .
