Career
Aja Evans was born on May 12, 1988 in Chicago , Illinois . Evans studied at the University of Nevada , then moved to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign [1] . Evans competed in shot put and long distance running in college.
Evans was dispersing in a team with Jamie Grubel , Elana Myers and Jasmine Fenlator in the 2012/13 World Cup, with whom she became third in the Eagles stage and second in Sochi. In the 2013/14 season, she won silver in Calgary and gold in Park City.
Evans was invited to the 2014 Bobsleigh Winter Olympics on January 19, 2014 [2] . February 19, 2014 , Evans along with Jamie Grubel won the bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Family
Evans was born into a sports family. Her father Fred was the first black winner of the swimming championship among college students, played for Chicago. The brother, also called Fred, is the defensive tackle of the Minnesota Vikings club. Uncle Gary Matthews was an outfielder . Gary Matthews Jr.'s cousin also plays baseball .
