Biography

Mikhail Nikolaevich Kutsin was born in 1957 in the village of Svoboda, Beregovo district, Transcarpathian region, Ukrainian SSR

Military service in the USSR

In 1978 he graduated from the Blagoveshchensk Higher Tank Command School . He began his officer service as commander of a tank platoon of the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany .

Further, in 1980-1987, he was a platoon commander, a company commander of cadets of the Kharkov Higher Tank Command School .

In 1990 he graduated from the Military Academy of Armored Forces in Moscow.

From 1990 to 1992 he held the posts of deputy commander, commander of a tank battalion, deputy chief of staff of a tank regiment of the Belarusian Military District .

Military service in Ukraine

In the Armed Forces of Ukraine since December 1992.

In 1992-1996 he served as chief of staff and commander of the regiment of the Carpathian Military District of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

From 1996 to 1999 - Chief of Staff, Commander of the 24th Mechanized Division of the Western Operational Command .

In 2001 he graduated from the faculty of training specialists at the operational and strategic level of the National Academy of Defense of Ukraine .

From 2001 to 2004, he served as Chief of Staff, Commander of the 13th Army Corps of the Western Operational Command.

From 2004 - First Deputy Commander, then, from July 20 of the same year [3] to 2010 - Commander of the Western Operational Command. Stock Lieutenant General.

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine (at that time, Mikhail Yezhel ) (Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, March 31, 2010).

By decree and. about. President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, number 172/2014 of February 28, 2014, was appointed Chief of the General Staff - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (instead of Yuri Ilyin ); Major-General Viktor Ganushchak , who previously headed the Eastern Territorial Command of the Internal Troops, became the acting commander of the Western OC.

On July 2, 2014, when he was in a combat zone in Ukraine , he received a concussion , which is why he could no longer fulfill his duties. On July 3, President Petro Poroshenko appointed Viktor Muzhenko as Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine.
