Biography
Born in 1913 in the family of Sava and Stana Chupich (nee Burich). The tenth child in the family. Parents - natives of Zagreda, lived in America for a long time. In the 1930s, Chedomir moved to Yugoslavia, in the city of Niksic , where he graduated from high school. He studied at the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade , in 1940 he was admitted to the Communist Party . Since July 1941, he has been in the partisan movement: having left Niksic, he joined the partisan company named after Dzhuro Dzhakovich , in which the natives of Niksic served. Later, the company was transformed into the Niksic partisan detachment, and Chedomir served in a separate company of this detachment.
In April 1942, the Chetniks on Kablena-Glavitsa captured him, but even under torture he refused to go over to their side. During the trial and the pronouncement of the sentence, Chupich showed unprecedented restraint and smiled when he was read the death sentence. May 9, 1942 Chedomir was shot on Petrov Glavitsa. Before the shooting, his picture was taken, in which he smiled and did not show his fear (he even laughed with his comrades in misfortune) [1] . Chadomir himself, just minutes before the execution, only shouted: “Long live the glorious Communist Party!”
July 10, 1953 he was posthumously awarded the title of People's Hero of Yugoslavia . His name is one of the streets of Podgorica .
