The name Pilumna comes from the word pilum - "pest for crushing grain"; it was believed that he invented this pestle. It is believed that Pilumn taught people to thresh bread [1] . Assuming that this god protects women in labor and newborns from the forest god Sylvanas , the Romans put in front of the house where the birth took place, a bed for Pilumn and his brother. When the father recognized the child, the bed was removed: from that moment the child passed under the care of the home gods.
Pilumna's son was Peak . Sometimes twin gods were identified with Dioscuri .
