She began her career on television in the late 1960s. In 1970, Van Dever made her debut on the big screen, appearing later in twelve films, including “Where is Poppa?” (1970), “The Last Race” (1971), “ Hollywood Moral Police ” (1986) and “The Messenger of Death ” ( 1988). [3] In 1972, Van Dever married actor George C. Scott , with whom she starred in the films Dolphin Day (1973) and Savage Free (1974).
In 1973, the actress was nominated for the Golden Globe Award in the nomination for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in the film "One - A Lonely Number".
