Kobe Steel Kobelco Steelers ( Japanese 神 戸 製鋼 コ ベ ル コ ス テ ィ ー ラ ー ズ , English Kobe Steel Kobelco Steelers ) is a Japanese rugby club serving in the top division of national rugby - Top League . The team, founded in 1928, belongs to the metallurgical company Kobe Steel . The Steelers became the first Top League champions in the 2003/04 season. Then rugby players were coached by Terunori Masuho, who in the past played both for the metallurgists themselves and for the Waseda university team. He left the club after the 2006/07 season - the team took sixth place. Then, Seiji Hirao and Yuji Sonoda worked with the team.
