Biography

Vera Vakhtangovna Shervashidze - philologist, graduate of the Faculty of Romano-Germanic Philology, University of Tbilisi, specializing in Philologist, Teacher of French Language and Literature. She graduated from graduate school at the Department of Foreign Literature, Faculty of Philology, Moscow State University. In 1975 she was awarded the degree of candidate of philological sciences, in 1989 - the scientific degree of doctor of philological sciences; in 1990 - the title of professor. From 1982 to 1992, he was the head of the Department of Foreign Literature at the Abkhaz State University. From 1994 to the present, he is a professor at the Department of Russian and Foreign Literature of the RUDN University.

 

Author of monographs: “ A. Malraux novels”, “From romanticism to existentialism”, “ A. Camus . The path to the novel "Outsider" ”, as well as numerous articles and study guides on French and European literature. He teaches courses in foreign literature of the XIX and XX centuries, and is the author of 3 new special courses - "Postmodernism in foreign literature", "Foreign literature, 2nd half. XX century. "," French literature of the turn of the XX — XXI centuries. " In accordance with the new requirements, she developed new programs and a new lecture course for the magistracy - "Philology in the system of modern scientific knowledge."

As a result of the research work of Professor V.V. Shervashidze, for the first time, the key names and phenomena of French literature at the turn of the 20th – 21st centuries were introduced into the context of Russian science - the work of A. Volodin , P. Kignar , J. Ashnose , J.-F. Toussin , J. Rouault , J. Perek . VV Shervashidze regularly participates in interuniversity and international conferences, as well as in the television program “Beads Game”. He is a member of the dissertation council on the specialty "Romance Languages" 02/10/05. Currently, he is collaborating with the publishing house Ladomir- Nauka, is preparing a fundamental commentary on the publication of the trilogy of M. Barres “Cult“ I “” in the series “ Literary Monuments ”.
