Biography

Vladimir Petrovich Mironov was born on November 4, 1925 [1] in the village of Dedino in the Sebezh district of the Pskov province (now the Sebezh district of the Pskov region ) into a peasant family.

After graduating from elementary school, he worked at the Border Guard collective farm . At the beginning of World War II he was under occupation, in January 1943 he joined the partisan detachment of Dobryakov, which was part of the 4th Kalinin partisan brigade. He was a machine gunner, a demolition engineer, a scout. After joining the units of the advancing Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army in July 1944, Mironov was called up for service in the Red Army on August 2, 1944 [2] .

By April 1945, Red Army soldier Vladimir Mironov was a machine gunner of the 1344th Infantry Regiment of the 319th Infantry Division of the 43rd Army of the 3rd Belorussian Front . He distinguished himself during the assault on Koenigsberg . On April 7–9, 1945, Mironov participated in the assault on the settlement of Yuditten (now Zelenoye within Kaliningrad ) and in the battles for Fort No. 6 Queen Louise . As part of the assault group, Mironov broke into the fort and personally destroyed three machine gun points. Breaking into the casemates, Mironov captured the commandant and chief of staff of the fortress along with the banner of the unit [2] .

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 19, 1945, Red Army soldier Vladimir Mironov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 8245 [2] .

After the war, Mironov continued to serve in the Soviet Army. Since 1950 - in the Kurgan region.

Since 1950, a member of the CPSU (b), in 1952 the party was renamed the CPSU .

Since 1969 he served in the Kurgan Higher Military-Political Aviation School , for many years he headed the library of special literature.

Ensign (since 1972) Vladimir Petrovich Mironov died on July 8, 1977, was buried in Kurgan , at the Ryabkovo cemetery [2] .

  • December 17, 2011 the name of Vladimir Petrovich Mironov was assigned to Ikovskaya secondary school (Kurgan region, Ketovsky district , Ikovka village, Mironova street, 45) [8] .
