The parliamentary elections in San Marino were held on June 4, 2006 . [1] The Christian Democratic Party remained the largest party in parliament , gaining 21 out of 60 seats. [2] The turnout was 72%.

The Party of Socialists and Democrats , the People’s Alliance of Sanmarin Democrats for the Republic, and the United Left, who together won 32 seats in parliament, formed the ruling coalition.

Context
In 2005, the Socialist Party merged with the Democratic Party. A part of the breakaway members of the Democratic Party joined in 2006 with the San Marinsk Communist Re-Party and formed the New Left Party.
