Acmaeodera neglecta (lat.) - a species of gold-beetle genus Acmaeodera from the subfamily Polycestinae ( Acmaeoderini ). Distributed in the New World : USA . The fodder plant of adults is the flowers of cactus and Asteraceae (Vogt 1949: 195); Coreopsis grandiflora (Westcott, et al. 1979: 176); Coreopsis lanceolata , Fragaria virginiana , Lithospermum canescens (Nelson 1987: 58), and in larvae - Quercus pungens (Westcott, et al. 1979: 176) [1] [2] [3] . The species was first described in 1899 by the biologist Henry Clinton Fall [4] .
