The Duchy of Krumlov ( czech Vévodství Krumlovské ) is the title duchy of the Czech kingdom centered in Český Krumlov , established in 1628 by the king of the Czech Republic Ferdinand II based on the South Czech possessions of Hans Ulrich von Eggenberg [1] . In 1841, the territory of the duchy was 870 km², with about 45,000 inhabitants living there.
Five rozmberk chervlityy five-leaved roses located on a silver shield according to the 2: 1: 2 scheme became the coat of arms of the duchy. The scarlet-silver patch consisted of a silver eagle crest , on which were placed five five-leafed scarlet roses [2] . This coat of arms was used only by the Dukes of Eggenberg of Krumlov (1628-1719). When granting the title to Prince Adam Franz zu Schwarzenberg in 1723 by King Karel II, the right to use the coat of arms was not granted.
The duchy was abolished along with all the noble titles and possessions after the proclamation of the Czechoslovak Republic in 1918 . Currently, a well-known Czech politician Prince Karel Schwarzenberg is a contender for the title of Duke of Krumlov.
