Trinity Church in Votlozhma

Votlozhemsko-Trinity Church is an inactive temple of the Trinity Life-giving on a high hill (hill) near the shore of the Northern Dvina in the village of Vystavka (formerly Chasovino) in the Kotlas district of the Arkhangelsk region . Built in the years 1753-1778 [1] .

The first temple in Votlozhma was cut down in 1627. Ustyug chronicles report that “Maya on the 20th day, in the week of All Saints, was a coward on the Dvina, and many people saw the earth quake. That same summer, Ustyug posad people church masters and carpenters Sergei Efimov Golovin and Trenka Karpov Golovin set up a warm church of the Trinity Zhivonachalnaya in Votlozhemsky volost, like that of Mikola on Privodina ” [2] .

The construction of the existing church was completed in 1778. Wall painting updated at the beginning of XX century. priest N.P. Kychanov. The church was closed in 1932, after which it was used as a club and warehouses. As of 2016, the church is not operational.

Until the 1940s the church was surrounded by a cemetery , destroyed along with many other objects (see the liquidation of cemeteries in the USSR ).
